We decided to go out to Bethany Lakes Park one Saturday while the Mom's headed over to Canton, Texas to do some shopping. We took the kids out and let them do some fishing for Perch with a Cane Pole. We used some worms and they caught several nice Perch. This is a great way to get kids interested in fishing. As we all know, if they aren't catching anything, they tend to lose interest really fast. At least fishing for Perch there is always some action. Well, they had lots of fun. We also caught several using a 2wt fly rod and some nymphs. The fly rod was used by the older children with some assistance from the adults. Go out fishing and take your kids with you. It's a great way to spend some fun time with them.

Hey Brad - that's a great picture. I know by now you are an expert fly fisher. HOwever, if you ever need a novice to come along with you - I would love to join you. I recently started fishing again and would like to start doing it more.
