Modified Copper John

This is a modified Copper John I came up with. The Body is wrapped with a Red Vinyl Rib instead of Red wire. Here is the pattern for this fly.
Hook: Size 12, 2x Long Nymph Hook.
Thread: 8/0 Brown
Tail: Brown Goose Biots
Thorax: Red Vinyl Ribbing (substituted for Red Wire)
Abdomen: Peacock Herl, 2 strands
Wing Case and Legs: 8 Pheasant tail.

I have tied a couple of these in a size 14, 2x long Nymph Hook for the 4 wt. Fly rod package at our upcoming DU Banquet, August 5th. I received the Fly Rod blanks today from mudhole.com. They are some very nice looking blanks and the reels will go very well with the St. Croix Handle Kits that came with the blanks. I will be posting pictures of my progress on these 2 fly rods.

Tight Lines, Brad
